Just some poems about the sea: I love the ocean. Not so much the warm and sunny tropical seas, but rather the rough and cold waters of the higher latitudes. The latter especially in the cooler and stormier seasons. The experience of walking on the beach in a strong wind, tasting the salt on my lips, hearing the roaring waves and feeling the cold air on my face, always gives me a special feeling of freedom and inner peace.
These feelings, the storm, the sea and the waves have also inspired me time and again as a writer. If the wild sea triggers similar feelings in you, then the following poems of mine may also be an inspiration for you:
January beach
Constant rumbling in the air,
breaking waves with
wafting plumes of spray
put salt on
our lips.
–
A pale sun is
behind a veil of clouds.
Grains of sand dance
with the gusts
over the beach.
–
Together we walk
against the wind,
holding on to each other.
–
The waves erase
our tracks.
Breathe freely, walk freely
Waves break on the cliffs,
drowning out every sound with their thunder,
the storm cuts your face,
tearing every word from the lips.
–
Not a soul in sight,
only cliffs, rocks, barren meadows,
here between sea and sky,
you can breathe freely, walk freely.
Clouds drift by
Clouds drift by,
waves break,
on cliffs, on beaches.
–
Wisps of mist drift in the wind,
salty air.
–
Lights stream,
storms howl,
over dunes, over meadows.
–
People walk in the rain, bent over,
shadowy.
Heart of the Sea
Blue Ocean,
to the horizon
there is no ship
to be seen.
–
I almost seem to
standing still,
surrounded only
by gentle waves.
–
The heart of the sea
beats calmly
accompanying me on
my journey.
–
Every day I listen to
its beating
and think of you
in the distance.
–
The days go by,
only the sun and moon
shine
on my way.
–
I gaze
the sparkling waves
and wonder,
will they carry me to you?
–
How long will my journey
last?
–
When will I
reach the distant shores?
–
I gaze longingly
out day after day,
hoping to finally
see the harbour.
